Being the Best Athlete
Being the best athlete is not determined by just how skilled you are but by how hard you work to get better. It's about training on your own and eating right and lifting.
Spring is a time for all of us to work on every aspect of ourselves as an athlete. It is going to be a struggle but one that will help us
But it is also about having fun with your teammates, and we do that we'll, like our usual halloween carving!!

Disappointing Closing
Unfortunatley, the 2010 MSU soccer team season is over. Losing the first round to Austin Peay was very frustrating especially when we dominated the entire game. For the seniors it was an unfortunate send off. But they had accomplished a lot in there 4 years here.

OVC Coming To an End
There are only 4 conference games left till the OVC tournament...stresses are high. We are still striving to get to the place where we know we can reach. As of know we are around 5th or 6th place. Frustrating is what this situation is, but we will just have to keep perserving.

Trip to Oklahoma
Last Thursday we traveled to Oklahoma to play Tulsa and Oklahoma State(number 18 in the nation). We played Tulsa on Friday in a very tight match. The defense kept us in the game for the most part until Katie Wilson scored late in the second half. We kept it 1-1 for regulation time and went into golden goal over time. Eventually losing with 2 minutes left in the first overtime off a cross.
Oklahoma State was a tougher match up. They are fundamentally good and calm with the ball at their feet. We started off against the wind, so we struggled. Down 3-0 at half we needed something to help us get going. We didn't get that something till 80 minutes in the match when Sophie Hargreaves took a long shot that went over the keepers head. Hargreaves' goal was followed by a goal off the foot of Kalli McCoy.
Overall we played well, but it was disappointing that we did not come back to Murray with a win.

Opening Weekend
The first two games both resulted in a 0-0 draw(Bellarmine and Saint Louis University). Playing 220 total minutes of soccer and no goal was scored was uneventful. Yet, the fact that Tara Isbell had 2 shutouts was fantastic. Coach has seen promising facets of our game, but also many areas where we can improve. Practice, practice, practice.

Sunday...Alabama A&M
